The Art of Remembrance

Join celebrated opera singer, mezzo soprano Kristin Darragh and the Off Broadway Big Band for The Art of Remembrance 2019.

This special evening of remembrance has become an Auckland tradition.

Set in the grounds of the historic St David’s Memorial Church in Grafton, the programme includes WWI-period music and song led by Kristin Darragh and the Off Broadway Big Band.

Come early (6.30pm) or linger afterwards to see artist Sean Winterbottom’s Remembrance projection on the north wall of the church, and keep warm with home-made soup, tea, coffee and Anzac biscuits (koha is welcome).

You’re invited to walk around the grounds and lay a flower of remembrance on the rise.

The evening includes The Last Post and Reveille played on the historic, WWI bugle.

All ages welcome for this free community event. Please dress warmly.

Brought to you by the volunteers of Friends of St David’s Charitable Trust, which is working to preserve this historic place for all Auckland.
