Grafton parking scheme delayed

Grafton’s new parking scheme, set to go into effect on July 2nd, has been delayed by a couple of weeks. Technical issues getting the new meters installed has delayed implementation.

First thing – don’t use your coupons until August 2nd! There is a 3 week warning period after the scheme kicks off, where tickets are not issued – warnings are given instead. The exact start date isn’t clear, but I’m told that ticketing won’t begin until the first week of August in any case.

The two meters on Seafield View Road, which require custom plinths to accommodate the narrow sidewalks, will be the last installed. In the meantime, the original Residents Parking signs have been reinstalled to help keep the street clear..

There is still time to apply for  a parking permit, or for parking coupons. To apply or learn more, visit https://at.govt.nz/driving-parking/parking-permits/resident-parking-permits/residential-parking-zones/
