Waitangi Day – Hobson Commemeration

Cr Mike Lee invites you to join in an informal gathering at Governor Hobson’s grave this year at 10am on Waitangi Day.

Captain William Hobson (26 September 1792 – 10 September 1842) was a British Royal Navy officer who served as the first Governor of New Zealand. He was a co-author of the Treaty of Waitangi.

The grave can be found at the corner of Grafton Bridge and Symonds Street.

    I read about the memorial ceremony at the grave of Capt William Hobson RN. The last mention for this was in 2019. Does GRA or FSSC plan to hold any such event again in the future? If so, would it be any trouble for you to let me know?
